March 2025

Dad enjoying a homemade pretzel pizza (one of dad's V-day gifts to mom: a box of Sam's pretzels)
Lydia Giauque and Amarah Maughan came and spent an entire night playing games with Verity at our house (during her concussion recovery). Sweet, kind girls!
More concussion recovery time. Poor girl suffered greatly from that skiing fall
Hayden doing mom's Come Follow Me lesson, tearing a dollar to prove that it is still worth $1 (D&C 18)
This is a TEXAS donut!?! Nice gift left for Hayden from mom and Verity
Spontaneously, Given suggested the boys take a trip to Provo for the final BYU basketball game versus Utah. First part of the trip: A BYU baseball game (they won in 9th inning come-back fashion)
Mom and Verity enjoying Culver's while the boys are away
Tradition of course: Getting Little Caesar's, then going to J-Dawgs
Carolyn Gudmundson's baby chicks!
BYU Creamery ice cream!
We got an extra ticket, so Grant was able to join us at the game. So fun!
BYU didn't play their best game, but they handled business and beat the Utes!
Incredible day. We stayed in a little dumpy Provo hotel that night, went to a Single Adults ward the next morning (saddest ward ever), then drove home.
Going to celebrate the opening of mission calls by Dayne and Cade Kovac.
Verity's incredible creations - cupcakes and...
A "Wicked" cake! She did an amazing job!
The cake was delicious!
Verity's leprechaun trap for St. Patty's Day. She didn't catch him, but he dumped out her trap, took her chocolate, and left 6 crumpled-up dollar bills.
Verity received a Reading Award from one of her 6th grade teachers. Great job, Sis!
After four years, Melanie was released from her beloved calling as the Stake Young Women's secretary. Next calling: Special Needs Adult Program presidency secretary with Malissa Zirker (President). This is a picture of Melanie at one of their first activities with a man who grew up in her Camelot Park neighborhood.
Hayden was super excited (and a bit surprised) to make the JV Hillcrest tennis team. Great job, buddy! This is his comfy (winter sports in Idaho are so cold), and it says, "Chatelain 2.0".
Another temple trip 2 on 1 with mom and dad...
Then dinner together at Cafe Sabor
Fund brief visit from the Whitney's on their way back to Montana
Dad (reluctantly) bestowing the truck keys to Hayden - HE HAS HIS DRIVER's LICENSE now!
Long Hayden hair = curly Hayden hair!
Enjoying a spring-break evening together in Rexburg with Given and Grace. Verity and Hayden stayed the night and really enjoyed their time together.
Alex and Melanie got a night together. Enjoyed dinner at Kainoa's Hawaiian restaurant in Rexburg, then a movie together at home.
The next day for spring break, we went to Utah. Here we are, trying to enjoy the BYU Sweet 16 bball game versus Alabama. Unfortunately, Alabama killed the cougs. Fun season, though!
We had to drown our sorrows with Kong Kones at Maceys after the game.
Friday we got to go to the Utah Aquarium with the Reiser's and enjoy exploring those crazy sea creatures!

Verity crossing a tall rope bridge in the aquarium
Hayden petting an armadillo.
It was fun watching them feed the penguins!
The jaw of a Megalodon
That night we did baptisms with Gma/Gpa Dutson and Andre at the Jordan River Temple
Fun sticker considering our tax guy, Larry!
We had a fun little party to celebrate Verity's birthday with the Chatelain's at Jayson and Chris's house. So fun!
Been a long time since we've been together. So wonderful to be with family again!

Squish mallow frog from Chris. She's a wonderful gift giver. Thank you!
On Saturday, we went back to Provo to enjoy a day with the Hatch family. Alex and Melanie went to a Filipino restaurant with Brian and Marcie. It was terrible! (good company, though)
Doing a couple of fun birthday games celebrating Verity with the Hatch clan

The winning team!
A lot of screaming and shouting for the "Can you Take a Hint" game
Grandpa Hatch and Ava
Candy bar game for the girls.

Candy bar game for the boys.
We love our Grant!
The grandchildren

February 2025

Free kids ski day at Kelly Canyon. Cold, windy day for dad and Verity with long lines, but always fun!

Mom created these delicious beauties and helped Hayden organize his bedroom while dad/Verity skied
Kaleb loving on the gift of his squishy taco that mom found and sent him
Celebrating Kaleb's birthday at Texas Roadhouse. The waitress was so kind to bring us a birthday brownie on his behalf!
Super Bowl Sunday celebrations. Wouldn't be complete without a little brothers' wrestling match
Lots of "Super Bowl" Themed Days, while we keep the Sabbath Day Holy
Hayden's beautifully drawn football field
Dad reveling in sugar-free cookies and milk!
And, of course, a little Moby!
So fun - Hayden's friends showed up to their game against Shelley and made these awesome signs to cheer him on!
Hayden celebrating win #5 (wins were very hard to come by this season)
WOW! Happy Valentine's Day! Incredible gifts and treats prepared by momma!
Hayden helped Verity make these amazing pigs for Verity's final Valentine's box! Nice job, guys!
Dad's date for mom on Valentine's day. Enjoying a little late-morning brunch at Perkins.

Sharing a Valentine's gift bag with Grace at her work

Another temple trip to the Rexburg temple (IF temple is closed)
After the temple, we stopped by the super fun White Sparrow shop and go southern-fried pies and drinks for lunch. Delicious!

Mom's stake youth activity - Bob Ross night. Hayden and friends did a great job painting!
Hayden at the dentist - may be getting a little big for the kids' dentist :)
Verity (right in the middle with the white shirt) in her Showkids Choir performing "Footloose" at the Civic Auditorium (before a kids Newsies performance). She loved that opportunity and had so much fun singing and dancing!

Mom's FHE activity after Verity's performance - we went on a treasure hunt to Manwaring cheese and got some Gilatto.
Verity had a free ski pass to Grand Targhee, so she and dad skipped school on a Thursday to go have an incredible day of skiing!
Gorgeous gorgeous views of the valley from the top of the mountain
View of the Tetons. Breathtaking scenery up there!
Lunchbreak!

Wonderful day of skiing, but unfortunately, Verity took a terrible fall on our last run and hit her head so hard that she got a concussion. She was so brave and skied to the base, but she took a bad fall. Poor girl. Helmet from now on!
