October 2023

Happy conference! Given brought a few friends with him from BYU-I to enjoy Sunday conference sessions with us. Nate loved making artistic creations with Verity!
Speaking of Verity's artistic creations...WOW!

Hayden's very last cross-country meet (ever?!) in Pocatello

Hayden ran so hard and left it all on the field for his last run! Great job buddy!
A little picnic dinner together after the race in the shadows of the Pocatello temple

Given took a trip to Utah for his mission trainer's wedding (Brady Wilkes) and stopped in for a visit with grandma Dutson
Enjoying Friday Nigh Flag Football for Hayden

Hayden played two games in Pocatello that night. Neither game went so well, but Hayden played so hard (almost every minute of both games) and very well!

Our final birthday adventure for Melanie was a trip to enjoy the beautiful colors on the way to Swan Valley, Idaho. We had a picnic dinner at a park, then of course, played some amazing family football!

Final night of flag football. Here's Hayden commanding the team in their first playoff game. They won that game by a wide margin, then played a team from Pocatello. Hard fought game, but their season ended in that second game (loss).
So fun to have Averly join us as she got to come home for fall break

Loved our time with Averly. So glad she could come home to be with us for a few days!
Final gathering of Hayden's flag-football team. We had a scrimmage, then they played parents. Super fun team. (Alex, Brant, James, Mac, Evan, Kade, Gavin, Collin, Hayden J., Kenady, Hayden, Coach Anderson)

Grandpa Max Dutson passed away on October 17th. We all went to Bountiful for the funeral and stayed the night at a hotel. So grateful to have Given come with us, and so grateful to have Averly be able to come all the way up from Cedar City to be with us.
Enjoying the pool and the hot tub at the hotel

Alex was so excited because brave little Verity worked so hard and learned how to swim that night!!! (Dad's a good swim coach)

We were so excited to have Andre's family and Sheldon's family come stay the night with us at our house that night (preparatory to going to the burial in Star Valley the next morning). We had a blast playing games together.
Loved how Sheldon said to Abbey, in deciding to come to our house, "I just want to be with family."

We enjoyed the beautiful drive to Star Valley early the next morning. Here we are at the Grover Cemetery for Grandpa's burial.
