Hayden's first start of 8th grade basketball.

They played Taylorview, the only team in their pod to give them a challenge. Sandcreek trailed most of the game, but game back to win by like 3 points. Hayden played all but one quarter and did an amazing job!

Checking baggage

It was EARLY! (4:30 am)

Good-bye Sister Chatelain!! We'll miss you so much!

Melanie was sad, of course, after Averly's departure. As she drove home later that day, she saw the sun shining SO brightly. She took it as a sign of the wonderful light Averly has and will be sharing with many people now. It was a comforting witness on a hard day.
Let your light so shine, Sister Chatelain!

Gma and Gpa Dutson picked up Averly at the SL airport and took her to a wonderful breakfast.

Then they dropped her off at the Hatch home
This is such a thoughtful poster that our neighbor, Nicole Otte, put together to honor Averly and her mission
Gma and Gpa Hatch took Averly to visit the Iverson's and Grant and Clarissa in Provo, and she even got to see her best friend, Hailey, at BYU to say good-bye to her.

Time for Gma/Gpa Hatch to take Sister Chatelain to the MTC. On their way.
MTC parking garage. Quick picture, hugs, and Sister Chatelain is off!
That night Hayden had a game in Shelley. We softened our sadness by visiting the Shelley Arctic Circle.
Tough to celebrate Valentine's day when we lost Averly on the same day, but Melanie put together this AWESOME candy-gram poster for Alex. So cool!
Kaleb reading his BYU ACCEPTANCE EMAIL!
Congratulations, buddy!! What an accomplishment!

Hayden's 8th grade team lost their first game in the tournament (again). We celebrated with some Culver's treats.
Because the Provo temple closed for renovation, Averly got to go to the Mt. Timpanogas temple and do sealings! Here's what she said about it:
Hello! We had the opportunity to go do sealings in the Timpanogos temple and it was an incredible experience! That temple is gorgeous and knowing that my parents got sealed there was so powerful. Your sealing to each other started everything for me and all your children. Without that sealing I can guarantee I would not be where I am right now. The Earth is completely wasted without the sealing power on it and people need to know that! We asked to see the bridal room and they were kind enough to let us back to see it and it was such a tender experience imagining my mother getting ready to start an eternal family. I first want to thank you for your choices that led to that sealing and for staying worthy of the covenant. I'd also like to admonish you slightly. I think it is so powerful and important to tell your children about the power of the sealing and the blessings you have seen from it and the importance of it. By knowing this and Witnessing it in their parent's lives children will be motivated to be sealed to someone thereby fulfilling the purpose of this earth. Next time you come to Utah, will you make a conscious effort to bring all your children to the temple you were sealed in, tell them your story and show them the power that comes from Jesus Christ when one chooses to be sealed. Help them understand the importance of this great work on the very grounds where their story all started. Will you do that next time you are in Utah?
This is Sister Joy D. Jones - she was the primary general president of the Church. Now her husband is in the Branch Presidency of the branch Averly was in at the MTC. Averly absolutely adored Sister Jones and her sweet counsel and love!

Almost time to depart from Sister McArthur. So blessed to have been together as MTC companions!
