August 2025

Had a fun little Barrus reunion barbeque at Jerry's property in Star Valley. Good to see these great people again.

Uncle Tracy (not looking real strong, unfortunately)

Hayden all packed and ready to head to FSY (year 2)
A note Melanie found that Kaleb had written (pre-mish)
Saying goodbye to Cade and Dayne Kovac
Alex showing up to teach on FSY day 2 in Rexburg, found these awesome young men.

Crashing on Averly's bed on a Saturday morning (so Hayden could tell us all about FSY)

Averly's homecoming Sunday in the Silver Springs Ward (Carolyn Gudmundson)
This is the Richardson's (?). Averly was the STL for their daughter when she just barely got to the mission. They said Averly was a huge blessing to help their daughter.
Averly and Nicole
Nice posing, fellas

Love these people! Thanks for coming!

FHE activity: Dance off! Mom and Verity on a team, Alex and Averly on a team. Hayden was the (impartial) judge!

Hayden declared Alex and Averly the winners (rigged?!)
Celebrate with ice cream for the FHE treat
Hooray! Our annual trip to Island Park. We started with lunch and a little exploring in Harriman State Park

Sing and dance off time! Karaoke night! We had an absolute blast! Everyone sang and danced like no one was watching (although we all were!) Enjoy these unfiltered pics!

Mom's delicious breakfast
Playing at the Eagle Ridge Ranch pond

Dad splashing into the pond from the rope swing
Verity did the rope swing from the platform for the very first time!

Hayden was a great helper to get the rope back for dad and Verity
We went and saw "Mission Illogical" at the Yellowstone Playhouse. It was SO fun and SO hilarious that we bought matinee tickets for Saturday's Variety show on the spot. Both shows were excellent!

Loved our time at Island Park, as always!
Isaac Harrison's mission homecoming
Harrison cla
Hayden's first ever ask for a dance! He put is name in a huge block of ice and asked Saige to Homecoming
Even grandma and grandpa got in on the fun. Saige's dad caught them running up to the door, opened the window and said, "What are you doing?!?"
Saige answered "yes" the very next day!!
Our annual trip to Pasa-la-coma campground. So fun!

Nice shootin, mom!
And Verity!
And nice hatchet and knife throwing!

With the awesome missionaries there serving us
Of course, we enjoyed a wonderful round of kick ball (Given and Grace joined us on Friday). Love these camps. Special times together!
In Rexburg. Alex was set apart as the 1st Counselor in the BYUI 89th YSA ward. So awesome that Given could join in the circle!
First day of school for Verity! Sandcreek MIDDLE SCHOOL!!

Good luck!
Big hug after the first day of middle school
And, of course, a little Culver's treat to celebrate conquering day 1.

First day of 10th grade for Hayden and Hillcrest High School. Looking good, bud!

Celebrated that night with a Pueblo West dinner specialty: The Slopper! Green Chili sauce over toast. Quite the feast! Thanks for the culture, Averly!
Melanie took Averly to Provo (before the rest of us could come) to help her move in, have a job interview (which she got!), and figure out campus and classes.
Averly's new living space at Alta Apartments. Great work, ladies!
Lunch at Slim Chickens in Spanish Fork (didn't see Kaleb :(
Then a beautiful trip to the Provo City Center Temple. What a couple of days!

BYU Women's soccer game with Abbi. (BYU won 2-0)

Macey's Kong Kones
And a little silliness

Alex and the kids came down to Utah Friday night. Verity and dad got to do baptisms at the Jordan River Temple.
We all met up to enjoy a gathering at the Iverson's, then the BYU vs. Portland State football game. So fun - what a show - best time together as a family. BYU won 69-0.

Hayden found these fries on the ground after the game. Thought about snacking on them. Yuck!

Alex and Verity on in the right bottom corner of the picture. This is Bear Bachmeyer (Freshman quarterback). They got a selfie with him and he signed Verity's flag. Special night!

And we got a selfie with Chase Roberts, star senior receiver (couldn't convince Averly to come over to meet him).
